DESIGNED FOR CARNIVORES

Your dog is a carnivore and shares his anatomy with the gray wolf – which means his body, short digestive tract, and teeth and jaws are adapted for a diet rich in meat, protein, and fat.

Based on this biological fact, and to produce a nutritional analysis that mirrors the diet Mother Nature would provide for your dog, ACANA Beef & Pumpkin is rich in nourishing proteins and fats, while excluding rice, potato and tapioca and long lists of synthetic ingredients found in some dog foods.

YOUR DOG IS SPECIAL

ACANA Beef & Pumpkin benefits your dog by providing the nutritional value that meets its individual needs. Just like you, your dog is a unique individual and his feeding requirements will vary with environment, age, and activity.

The table below provides a starting point, to be adjusted as needed to maintain optimum weight and peak conditioning. We suggest monitoring your dog’s weight and adjusting amounts as needed. We recommend feeding twice daily and always keeping fresh, clean water available.

When switching diets, it’s important to transition your dog as it takes time for his digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a five-to-seven-day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day seven you are feeding 100 percent ACANA.

He’ll love the change – we guarantee it!

† Use a standard 8-ounce measuring cup. Serve dry or lightly moistened. See your veterinarian regularly. To help maintain freshness, we recommend sealing the bag tightly and storing it in a cool, dry location.

CALORIE DISTRIBUTION

Compared to some dog foods, ACANA delivers more calories from protein and fat and less from carbohydrates, promoting your dog’s peak health.

Metabolizable Energy is 3405 kcal/kg (409 kcal per 8 oz. cup), with 32 % from protein, 26 % from carbohydrates and 42 % from fat.

BIOLOGICALLY APPROPRIATE

MEAT-BASED FOODS THAT MIRROR YOUR DOG’S EVOLUTIONARY DIET.

The gray wolf is an ancestor to all domestic dogs. While years of breeding have produced hundreds of “different-looking wolves,” the internal workings of modern dogs and their wolf cousins remain unchanged, so it’s no surprise that their dietary needs remain the same too.

Our award-winning Biologically Appropriate philosophy is simple: mirror the quantity, freshness, and variety of meats that dogs are evolved to eat while limiting the long lists of synthetic ingredients that don’t belong in your dog’s natural diet.

  • RICH IN MEAT (60%)
  • HIGH FRESH MEAT INCLUSIONS (1/2)
  • WHOLE PREY BEEF
  • RICH IN MEAT PROTEIN (31%)
  • FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLES (26%)
